Heading into 2026 the World Surfing League has yet to add the Krui Pro to it's scheduled events and the event currently remains in limbo due to budget restrictions.

For competitors and local businesses it's not much different to previous years when the event was announced only weeks before the start date.

For those considering a 2026 Indo surf adventure the possibility of 300+ Pro surfers arriving in Krui at an unknown date in April, May or June continues to make South Sumatra a somewhat difficult destination to plan for.

Acting Secretary of the Pesisir Barat Tourism Office has indicated their commitment to the event but the inadequate regional budget makes it impossible to independantly fund the event.
