Jimmy's Right surf break South Sumatra

General surf information

Quality right hand surf break, often heavy and fast. The take off requires the skill to draw a line into the barrel while making the drop. Exiting the wave takes a quick pull-off before the end section which shuts-down on a very shallow or dry reef.

Jimmy's Right is for the experienced only. If your watching this wave wondering if you could make the drop and a clean exit don't even think about paddling out. Broken egos, boards and bodies are common here.

If the wind is not good try Jimmy's Left on the north side of the reef. It's just as heavy.

Vibe in the water

On smaller days this surf breaks can be frustrating for serious surfers as it attracts it's fair share of Social Media "Legends" / Kooks in search of a Hero Shot before they wipeout. When conditions get double overhead and heavy the crowd disappears. If you want to concentrate on this wave then base yourself in the area when the swell hits.
